It took me a week

Published by Timmy under Training

Already I can tell that I’ve a bit more endurance than when I was running less often awhile back. I felt more lazy tonight an didn’t quite get the average pace that I could have, but I wan’t struggling either! Tomorrow I’m going to go for a more sustained avg pace.

Training Begins

Published by Timmy under Training

One reason/excuse as to why I don’t run often enough is that by the time I get home from work every day its dark and cold already.
So because of that, I was really looking forward to the weekend so that I could get in some daylight running; and when do I finally get around to running? Sunday night when it’s again dark and cold.

So the Story Goes

Published by Timmy under Training

I bought the Nike+iPod running kit a little about a year and a half ago. At that time I was hoping to work out a bit more just to be a little bit healthier. Cuz I know I’m not about to change my eating habits. :)

After buying the iPod Nano and Nike+ I ran for about 3 weeks before it fizzled out and I lost interest. It wasn’t until I was at the Disneyland Resort on September 2 and got to see the 2007 Disneyland Half Marathon all set up and ready for the next morning’s event. At that point I set my goal to run the next year’s Half Marathon.

My friend Susana has been running a while and she’s taken me to my first 5K race. I had a blast! It was early and cold, but the rush I got from taking to the streets of Downtown Los Angeles with 256 other runners was awesome! I’ve already planned out the next three 5K Races that I’ll run in as well as a training plan to properly train for a 10K and next a Half Marathon!

Out of Shape

Published by Timmy under Training

Well that certainly was not my best run in any respect. I wasn’t running for more than half a mile before I needed to slow down. Maybe it was the colder weather tonight?

In any case, I am happy that I went out and ran period. After the 5K race Susana and I ran last weekend I have been motivated to get back to running more regularly. It only took just under a week of healing before I felt I should get out there… And about 3 more days until I actually did! :-)

Susana has already logged 7 Miles in our December Challenge (December Challenge = Most Miles in December) and I was hoping to be able to show that I am a contender, My measly little 1.87mi doesn’t really pose much of a threat to her at this rate.

I’ll get her tomorrow!
