My Foot
My right foot has been hurting after pretty much every run lately. It feels like perhaps my arch is under or over supported. How would I find that out? I am thinking of going to a runing store where they specialize in finding your ideal running shoes. I’ll have them check what shoes are best for my feet and style and maybe that will shed light on why I’m hurting.
I’ve had good luck with the stores “Run With Us” and “Snail’s Pace”. Both stores employ runners who know about running. Being flat footed and a person who pounds the ground with each stride I have to be particular in which sneaker I wear. Both those stores not only let you run a bit with them on they watch you run to see if the shoe is right for your stride.
Thanks Joel. There is a Snail’s Pace very close to me in Brea which I’ve still never been to. I’ll definately check that out!
Go get running shoes specifically for your physiology (if you haven’t done so already). It’ll be the best thing you’ll ever do. A good running shoe store (not like a general sporting goods place, but a runner-specific store) should ask to see you walk and run so they can see how your legs, ankles and feet move when you stride. It’s also really helpful to bring in your old pair so they can see where you wear them down.
Hit up Yelp.com, too–maybe there’s some good store recommendations on there.
